Mary Baun, RDN, LDN, CDCES

Mary joined Valley Gastroenterology Associates as our dietitian in June 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Pennsylvania State University and completed her Dietetic Internship at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Early in her career, Mary worked in quality nutrition management in skilled and long-term care facilities and served as a Clinical Dietitian in Long Term Care in Beaver. She went on to work for Heritage Valley Health System for over 30 years, first as a Clinical Dietitian and Home Care Dietitian and later as a Nutrition Outcomes Clinical Specialist. During her time at HVHS, she counseled many patients on nutrition, diabetes  and behavior modification. Most recently, Mary worked at Rochester Manor and Villa as a Clinical Dietitian.

In addition to her certification as a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Mary earned a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management (CDR). Mary’s professional memberships include the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (ADCES).

Outside of work, Mary enjoys gardening, cooking and going to the beach.
