Gustavo Gomez, M.D.

Dr. Gomez joined our practice in August 2022. After earning his M.D. at Universidad El Bosque (Escuela Colombiana de Medicina), Bogota, Colombia, he began his career as a general practitioner for Clinica Emcosalud in Neiva, Colombia.

After moving to the U.S. in 2010, Dr. Gomez completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago-Advocate Christ Medical Center where he received the “resident of the year” award in research excellence during his last year of residency. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Allegheny General hospital in 2016. He then served as a Gastroenterologist at the Digestive Diseases of Northwestern PA and Saint Vincent Hospital – Allegheny Health Network in Erie, PA.

Dr. Gomez also served as Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Division of Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), during his time in Erie. He has published and presented multiple abstracts at national gastroenterology meetings and given multiple oral presentations on medical topics.

Dr. Gomez is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

In his free time he likes to play the guitar, enjoys traveling with his family and is a passionate soccer fan.
